What Next? How to Confirm the admission to the course?
Q: There are many yoga schools offering Online Yoga Classes and Courses . Why should I enrol in International Yoga Accademy's Courses? What sets your online course apart?
Please read our About us page to know more about our School. Also a point to note is 100% of all our teacher training classes are live and interactive and not pre recorded. |
Q: Why enroll in a prenatal yoga teacher training course when I have already completed a foundation 200 hour yoga teacher training?
Yoga students who have studied and trained in traditional yoga learning settings such as ours should be able to tailor-make yoga classes for various body types, including women in the middle of their pregnancy. However, as most teacher training programmes offered today focus on one style – often based on the lineage of the instructor – the classes tend to teach a fixed set of poses. At IYA, we refrain from labeling our yoga ‘styles’. Our courses do not represent any one lineage. We teach students the basics of yoga, its origin and philosophy, and the various traditions of yoga so that they may understand the essence of the practice – and how ‘prenatal yoga’ came to be what it is today. Our 100 hours Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Online Course is designed in a such a way that students will be able to customize yoga practices based on an individual’s physical and mental states, increasing its effectiveness and therapeutic value, including that for pregnant women. Ultimately, we teach yoga for the general well-being of the mind and body, as well as its unique benefits during pregnancy. |
Q: What can I learn in this Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course that I won’t learn elsewhere?
The course has an elaborate focus on the pregnancy anatomy, its yogic view, and how yoga contributes to the labour process. We teach basic and practical knowledge required to apply tools in yoga that benefit the mother’s, as well as the child’s, well-being. Students also receive a lot of interactive, practical sessions with the faculty. You learn the poses, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation techniques that are specifically modified for pregnancy. |
Q: Why should I choose International Yoga Academy to learn online?
The method of learning has changed over the years. From being confined to the four walls of a physical studio to the freedom and enjoyment of learning a course online especially during the current challenging times. From professionals to students, online learning has become the go to method of learning whether it is school, new courses, languages and even university degrees can now be learnt online. Our highly experienced and qualified Yoga teachers with over fifteen years of teaching experience designed this online course to ensure a thorough learning experience. Our goal in designing this course was to ensure that the students taking this course would experience it as more than just a means to earn another certificate of completion, but rather as a life-changing experience. With the help of our teachers and the feedback received from our past students, we have structured the Teacher Training Course in modules to enhance your learning experience. The modules are designed to ensure that you understand all the basic poses and integrate them into the more advanced techniques. As long as you have had some experience with yoga practice in the past, you will have no problem learning and understanding the subjects taught in the modules. All the classes are conducted as live interactive sessions in which students can interact with the instructor and ask questions when something is unclear. To ensure that students are prepared for every class, they are given study notes before every session. Everything from the Course content, recommended group class hours to the assessment process are all completed online, after which a certificate is awarded following the assignment review. |

Q: How can you ensure that the students coming out of this online learning are qualified to teach, and is it possible to learn everything online?
There is more to becoming a teacher than just learning. You need some qualities to teach yoga regardless of how you have learned. They are:
Note that while this training gives in-depth knowledge about yoga, learning never truly ends. |
Q: How does one prepare for your teacher training courses?
We highly recommend you confirm your registration at least one month before the course’s start date by paying the course fee in order to secure your slot. We also recommend that you get a head start on our required reading materials by purchasing the materials through our online store and reading them before you embark on the training. This isn’t a requirement, but doing so will give you an idea of what to expect, preparing you better mentally and physically as you anticipate full immersion in the training. |
Q: What is your professional advice to me on how to make the best of the teacher training program?
Keep an open mind learning approach during the training. Learn the positives from teachers of different lineage and learn to apply the techniques in your practice first and give time to reflect. Don’t judge the teaching approach just by doing once or twice. Start your recommended online group practice and online Andiappan yoga classes as early as possible and keep it regular. Don’t wait until the last minute and rush to finish the classes. These are really good opportunities to interact with the teachers and learn more with the teacher’s guidance. Although asanas are most people’s major focus in practice of yoga, learn to balance your practice by attending breathing focused classes and meditation classes regularly. As you know when students become too dependent on group classes, they may not be able to practice yoga without relying on the physical presence of the teacher. It’s important to keep a self practice for at-least a minimum of 15 minutes every day. Listen to the body and practice accordingly. We also recommend taking a few online private lessons with one of the faculty teachers. This will give you a deeper learning process as every student is unique in learning the techniques as per their limitations. During the private class the teacher can explain your limitations and how to adapt your practice accordingly and see consistent progress in your yoga journey. |
Q: Can you issue me an admission confirmation letter so I could apply for permission in my work?
Once you have confirmed your admission with payment we will issue the payment receipt with the details of the admission to the course. |
Q: Is your school accredited by Yoga Alliance USA? Can I apply for a Yoga Alliance Registration upon completion of my course?
All our teacher training programs are registered with Yoga Alliance USA, and yes, students may apply for registration upon completion of the course. However, successful course completion requires submitting an assignment, which is scheduled at the end of every training period. Students who qualify are then granted a Course Graduation Certificate, which is registered with Yoga Alliance USA (RYS 200,300 & 500 and ERYT 500), as well as Asana Andiappan College of Yoga and Research Centre and the International Yoga Academy. Only then, upon receipt of the Certificate, can students register with Yoga Alliance through our assistance. |
Q: Am I still eligible to take your training courses although I’m suffering from an injury?
Yes, you are. When you fill up our online application form, there is a field where you are asked to mention your injuries and health conditions. Please be accurate and as detailed as possible, so that our faculty may know how to address your injury and teach you the right postural modifications, as well as some yoga therapy techniques. You will also learn how to address and prevent common injuries in yoga practice. |
